ART RISE: LEARNING TO PAINT FROM WITHIN
Art Rise is a weekly journey into art and creativity, where you can come for the whole journey or just one session at a time.
You don’t need to know how to paint to be here. This isn’t about learning technique. It’s about meeting what’s already inside you.
Tuesday 10th February | 6:00–9:00 PM
£34 per session
All materials, guidance, and finished artworks included.
Art Rise invites you into a way of creating shared by artists and cultures for thousands of years. Painting not to perform or perfect, but to understand yourself through the act of making. To listen with the body and allow something true to emerge.
Each week, we gather for around three hours, allowing time for creating, taking breaks, and simply being in the space together. Attention moves out of overthinking and into the body, the materials, and the act of creating itself. Some weeks we work with a loose theme to open the process. Other weeks, the focus emerges from the group itself, responding to what feels present in the room.
You don’t need to be good at art.
You don’t need to know what you’re coming for.
You only need a willingness to enter the process and see what shows up.
You’ll leave each session with a finished art piece and an embodied experience of creating beyond thought, often leaving a trace that lasts far beyond the workshop.
About the facilitator
These sessions are held by Zara Waters, the artist behind many of the works you see throughout OXYGENIC.
If you’ve spent time in the space and felt drawn to the art, curious about where it comes from or what it carries, Art Rise is an invitation to step inside that process for yourself.
Zara brings over twenty years of experience in psychotherapy and somatic practice into the way these sessions are held. Not to analyse or instruct, but to create a grounded, attentive space where art can become a way of listening, sensing, and allowing something real to emerge.
